Sunshine, a bike, and yarn!

Dear Ruth the Van,

Dad got his bike out for the first time since we’ve been here. There aren’t really any trails around here, but he said he was going to ride around the roads a little. He passed by me and mom while we were on a long walk.

The roads are dry enough that mom got to wear regular tennis shoes on our walk, instead of her mud boots. I did my best to walk in all the mud I could find….

I had fun on our trip into town with mom today. She got me some treats when she went shopping, and found a yarn store. She said it had super cool yarn that was made by the lady who worked there. I think we will be back there soon.

Soak up the sunshine!

Maverick

  1. Dear Maverick, Wow it looks like Spring is really coming to Alaska. I know your mom loves all kinds of yarn. How special she found some made by the lady in the store. We are so glad your dad got to ride his bike. We know how much he loves to do that. Keep on sending us the news and pictures. Maybe you could give mom a break and not step in every mud puddle. 😂😂 Love, Nana, Grandpa Ray and Roy of course

  3. Gear Mav –

Sun looks great. You do know mud = bath, right? Mom puts my muddy feet in a bucket of warm water. She calls it a Jesus Bath. There is no love & compassion in the deal, so not sure what she’s getting at.

Dad said your Tombowen seem very happy on his bike. Very much a treat for him. He’s quite good at that sport. I bet he’ll find some moose trails this summer to follow.

Sounds like things are settling down and you all are settling in: treats, yarn, mountain biking, less mud. Mom and Dad talk about your adventure often.

    Milkbones!
