Rainbows and milestones

Dear Ruth the Van,

It’s been a week since we’ve seen the sun….lots of cold rain and cloudy skies, and wet muddy walks. One cool thing about rain is that everything is really green outside (moms allergies are feeling that), and dad got to see a rainbow while flying this week. Pretty cool!!

With the flying dads been doing, he finally reached 500 hours of tail wheel time. That’s something he’s been working toward for a while. Mom and I are super proud of him.

This weekend also marks the end of our second month in Alaska. I can’t believe we have been here this long. We have met some really great people, and are surrounded by amazing scenery. Mom and I wish it would get a little warmer and sunnier….hopefully soon.

    Dear Maverick, it was great hearing mom read your blog post. I had my first van trip! Mom and dad said I get an A+! I’m a good sleeper and I don’t bark. There are so many neat things to smell in the world! And I think I might really like rivers. Alaska sounds super cool. I can’t wait to meet you. I REALLY like playing with other dogs!

    Dear Maverick and Abigail and Tom, I feel your pain about the rain and cold. That’s what is happening in Maine right now. We are leaving Booth Bay tomorrow and driving to Bar Harbor. We think we have more rain but we will love it anyway. Have a great weekend. Love Mom

    Dear Mav –

    Sorry for the delay. I’ve just returned from two nights in the kennel. Not my favorite. Mom said Dad would be too busy with my Hooman brother’s wedding this weekend to take walks and stuff. I’m not so sure about that.

    Two months! Amazing. 500 hours! More amazing. Does he get a special treat for that milestone? Like steak dinner or something?

    Hate to hear about the mud. Mud = Bath here. Or those dreadful feet washings, at least. Hang in there!
